Organic Coriander Seeds
Coriander is a small, hollow-stemmed plant in the Apiaceae family, in the genus: Coriandum. Its scientific name is Coriandum sativum.
Pleasant, aromatic and spicy, its seeds have been found utility since ancient times in cooking as well as in various traditional medicines. The seeds have a lemony citrus flavor when crushed, due to terpeneslinalool and pinene. It is described as warm, nutty, spicy, and orange-flavoured.
Coriander seeds have a health-supporting reputation that is high on the list of the healing spices. In parts of Europe, coriander has traditionally been referred to as an "anti-diabetic" plant. In parts of India, it has traditionally been used for its anti-inflammatory properties. In the United States, coriander has recently been studied for its cholesterol-lowering effects.
Coriander is a great source of potassium, iron, vitamin A, K and C, folic acid, magnesium and calcium. Therefore it is known all over the world for its medicinal properties.
